Unique knowledge hubs & facilities
PITC provides its partners with access to knowledge, shared tools, and facilities. Our ecosystem offers specialised expertise on InP and SiN technology and cutting-edge nanolabs and foundries for both chip manufacturing and integration.
Three IP powerhouses
The PITC ecosystem consists of three IP hubs specialising in the most promising photonic technology platforms:
InP technology, with research facilities (Eindhoven University of Technology) and SMART Photonics foundry
SiN technology, research lab at University of Twente with soon-to-be-build New Origin foundry Silicon photonics, imec Leuven
NanoLabs and integration expertise
State-of-the-art labs and services empower our partners to conduct cutting-edge R&D in nanofabrication and chip integration:
MESA+ University of Twente
Embracing a cross-disciplinary approach and benefiting from the MESA+ NanoLab, over 500 researchers deliver high-quality, frequently ground-breaking research, specialising in SiN chip manufacturing.
Nanolab Eindhoven University of Technology
NanoLabTU/e supports elite academic research and industrial collaborations as an open-access facility for research partners. This approach ensures fundamental research insights transition rapidly to industrial applications. Research for PITC focuses on InP chip manufacturing.
Research on chip integration
